KBIS 2016 from the Las Vegas Convention Center

The 2016 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show took center stage last week (in case you hadn’t heard) at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The record-breaking crowds were treated with three consecutive days of beautiful weather, expert speakers, and the latest trends and newest products across the industry.

Thousands of professionals and hundreds of companies congregated in the entertainment capital of the world to discuss upcoming trends in kitchen and bath design and experience the newest products set to hit the market. For the third consecutive year, KBIS was held in conjunction with the International Builders Show (IBS) in a mega-event known as Design and Construction Week. This year’s crowds are expected to have broken attendance records for the event.

Rev-A-Shelf Booth

Rev-A-Shelf's booth was one of the more popular exhibits in the north hall, and the crowds were thick from Tuesday morning until the end of the show. We had more visitors to our booth this year than any year since 2005 and over 24% more than last year's show.

The most popular display in the booth was probably the Cleaf laminate frameless kitchen. It was illuminated by Eurolinx under cabinet lights. Inside the cabinets, we had linkable Elli V linear fixtures and Halemeier Reach lights inside the display cabinets.

The frameless kitchen featured several of our new products, such as the Food Storage Container Organizer (nominated for Best of KBIS), the Tiered Combination Drawer, two products from the new K-Cup collection, the Wall Filler Accessory and Two-Tier Organizer, and the Above Appliance Pullout.

Across from the frameless kitchen, was our transparent kitchen that we brought back from years' past. The beauty of the transparent kitchen is that it allows people to see the attractiveness and functionality of Rev-A-Shelf's products inside of the cabinets. Filling the transparent kitchen was some of the most attractive contemporary products in our line. The chrome accents of the products combined with the beautiful red appliances and dinnerware with which our staff propped the display created a gorgeous look that literally grabbed people's eye the moment they walked past. The aisles outside the booth were cluttered with people crowding around the products.

Modern-line products that we displayed in the transparent kitchen included the Single Tier Cloud, the Sink Base Pullout, Soft-Close Mixer Lift, Premiere Pullout Shelving System, and our new Collapsible Corner Lazy Susan.

Near the back of the Rev-A-Shelf exhibit, we had dedicated corner displays for two of our most popular lines, waste containers and drawer accessories. The waste containers featured some of our new sizes and some of our best selling and popular models. The drawer accessory corner also proved to be a popular spot in the booth, featuring our new Tiered Combination Drawers, K-Cup Inserts, new Pilaster System, and the Blum Legra Box prototype display featuring attractive walnut versions of our more popular items.

Tresco Lighting Booth

The Tresco display was bustling with people from the beginning of the show to the end. People were showing particular interest in the new finish options available for the popular Infinex extrusion system. Also drawing the eyes of passersby was the new FreeDim Series of dimmers and controllers, particularly the Deco wireless wall switch.

The Tresco area also had the Eurolinx and SimpLED 2.0 on display, along with the Halemeier designer collection showcase.

Highlights

There were several notable moments from throughout the three-day event. On Tuesday, Rev-A-Shelf was acknowledged for being an official sponsor of the National Kitchen and Bath Association University's Professional of the Year award. During the ceremony, Rev-A-Shelf's Director of Marketing Rob Jenkins stood up to address the crowd, speaking on the unique role that the NKBA plays in the industry and how proud our company is to partner with them.

Showroom owner Danielle Burger, from Clarendon Hills, Ill, took home first place. The runners-up will be given trips to visit the plants/companies of the official sponsors, so in the spring, we will be welcoming runner-up Alena Capra to Louisville, Ky.

On Wednesday, we welcomed Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) to our booth for the official announcement of our partnership with the organization. HFOT is a nonprofit organization that builds specially adapted, mortgage-free homes for severely injured Veterans. We were honored to announce a partnership that will see us donate several of our accessible items to the project, ensuring a better and more accessible home for these Veterans and their families.
